Map Vault Folders

Your data is never directly impacted by the actions of Autoloader. Once a folder has been selected as a data source and the files have been scanned, the data files are copied to a temporary location. It is these files that are uploaded to the vault. The Map Vault Folders screen allows you to map the folder structure to the folder structure/search paths in the vault.

The Resultant Vault View shows the folder structure of the vault.

If you are uploading an Autodesk Inventor project, the workspace, libraries, and content center library in the project need to be mapped to folders in the vault. The workspace folder can be mapped directly to the Designs folder in the vault or to any subfolder in the Designs folder. Libraries can be mapped directly to the Libraries folder in the vault or to any subfolder in the Libraries folder. However, Content Libraries are automatically mapped to the vault Content Center Files folder.

  1. If the target folder for the workspace does not exist in the vault yet, right-click the Designs folder in the Resultant Vault View and then select New Folder. In the Create Folder dialog box, enter a name for the new folder and then click OK.

If the library folder does not exist in the vault yet, right-click the Libraries folder in the Resultant Vault View and then select New Library Folder. In the Create Folder dialog box, enter a name for the new library folder and then click OK.

  2. In the Target Location in Vault column associated with the folder to check in, click the browse button.
  3. In the Browse Vault for Folder dialog box, select either the Designs folder or a subfolder to be mapped to the workspace for the project. This will create a subfolder called Designs under the Design folder. To map the workspace folder directly to the Designs folder without creating a subfolder, select the Direct Mapping check box.
  4. Click OK. If the vault folder doesn't exist, click New Folder and create a new folder in the vault.
  5. If libraries are being added to the vault, in the Target Location in Vault column associated with the library folder to check in, click the browse button.
  6. In the Browse Vault for Folder dialog box, select either the Libraries folder or a subfolder to be mapped to the libraries for the project and then click OK. If the vault folder doesn't exist, click New Folder and create a new folder in the vault.
  7. You can rename or delete any new folder created in the vault view. Select the folder and then click Rename to change the name of the new folder. Select the folder and then click Delete to remove the new folder.
  8. The files from the data source will be copied to a temporary folder prior to being uploaded to the vault. The temporary folder location is displayed at the bottom of the screen. To change the temporary folder location, click Browse to select a different folder or create a new one and then click OK.
  9. Click Next.
