Smart Bevel now handles even more complex geometry with fewer errors.

In 3ds Max 2027.1, you will spend less time on manual cleanup when using Smart Bevel on geometry with many intersecting edges.
Cutback Relaxation Improvements
Cutback relaxation has been improved to help prevent straight edge segments from shifting. This is especially useful when working on hard-surface models that combine linear and smooth forms.
Corner and Spike Fixes
Smart Bevel reduces spikes and jagged sawtooth results at corners in certain edge cases.
Limiting Improvements
Limiting works better across all intersection types and has been improved to stop bevel results from crossing. Intersections that were missed before are now detected.
Arc Welding and Isolated Arc Removal
Arc welding new junctions (the start or end of a selection of edges, or where selections of edges intersect) is more thorough, catching arcs it previously missed. Isolated Arc Removal is also more reliable.
Junction Face Fixes
Improved how Smart Bevel handles edge sequences that previously failed to bevel, resulting in proper beveling and preventing holes or missing faces at junctions along the sequence.
Preset Support
Smart Bevel presets can now save the Remove Isolated Arcs state.
