- Select Nameplates from the list.
- Select the desired nameplate from the dialog box.
- Pick the target footprint and press Enter.
To insert a stand-alone nameplate, simply press Enter without first selecting a component.
- Pick the insertion point and move your cursor to rotate the nameplate to the desired alignment. Click the left mouse button to end the dynamic insertion.
- Specify the nameplate tag, description, installation and location codes, and catalog data in the Panel Layout - Nameplate Insert/Edit dialog box.
AutoCAD Electrical toolset immediately annotates the nameplate with a copy of the description data that it finds carried on the footprint (which is the same description that is found on the schematic representation of the component).
- Click OK to insert the nameplate.
Tip: Use AutoCAD MOVE command to position the nameplate in relation to the parent footprint.
