We only need one copy of AutoCAD LT and do not wish to have a subscription .

Autodesk does not cater to the hobbyist with AutoCAD . There is the monthly subscription to help alleviate the yearly cost as long as you don't need it every month.

Just basic AutoCAD will do the job now. I want to degrade my current subscription to just simply AutoCAD but I am being told that in order to do that I have to start all over and BUY a new copy AutoCAD .

(3) If I choose LT but don't like it, can I upgrade my subscription to regular AutoCAD ? If so, is it just the cost difference?

If creating and using Parametric Constraints this is a dire business need, you will need to abandon your LT subscription and start a new subscription for full AutoCAD (+/- 4x the annual cost ) to do what you want BTW, the comparable SolidWorks software at Autodesk would be Inventor or Fusion. if you do that type of work, as AutoCADLT is just a general CAD type program, smarter that paper drafting but not best for SolidWorks type of automated output.

HEY, I HAVE AUTODESK EDUCATIONAL SUBSCRIPTION . WHILE I WAS DOWNLOADING AUTOCAD , SOMETHING CALLED "CADLEARNING" APPEARED AND I DOWNLOADED IT TOO.
