About Transmittal Packages in AutoCAD LT and Previous Versions of AutoCAD

Package and deliver groups of drawings, and related and supporting files in transmittal packages. Packages can be created as:

  • a file folder
  • a ZIP archive
  • a self-extracting executable
Transmittal packages may be received by team members using earlier versions of AutoCAD (or other AutoCAD based products).

You can use eTransmit to convert files to several previous DWG file formats. Additionally, transmittal packages created in AutoCAD 2005 or later, including other AutoCAD based products, can contain sheet sets. The files in the sheet sets can still be sent and received by AutoCAD LT and earlier versions of AutoCAD.

ImportantWhen you convert drawings to a legacy drawing file format, drawings containing objects that exceed the legacy large object size limits are listed in the Conversion Error Encountered dialog and are not converted.
