Merges selected layers into a target layer, removing them from the drawing.
Summary
You can reduce the number of layers in a drawing by merging them. Objects on merged layers are moved to the target layer, and the original layers are purged from the drawing.
If you enter -LAYMRG at the Command prompt, options are displayed only at the command line.

Layer to Merge

Select object on layer to merge

Select an object on the layer whose objects will be moved to the target layer.

Name

Displays the Merge Layers dialog box, where you can select the name of a layer whose objects will be moved. Press Ctrl+click to select more than one layer.

Undo

Removes the previous selection from the list of layers to merge.
Target Layer

Select object on target layer

Select on object on the layer whose properties you want to retain.

Displays the Merge to Layer dialog box, where you can select the name of the layer where the objects will be moved.
