About Making Objects Temporarily Invisible

Product Documentation
Beginner

You can temporarily suppress the visibility of objects with several methods.

  • You can temporarily suppress the display of selected objects with the Hide Objects feature (HIDEOBJECTS).
  • You can temporarily suppress the display of all objects except the selected ones with the Isolate Objects feature (ISOLATEOBJECTS).
  • You can turn off, or freeze all objects on specified layers. See About Layers for more information.

By default, when you close and reopen a drawing, all previously hidden objects are displayed. The Light Bulb icon on the status bar darkens when any objects are isolated or hidden. Click the Light Bulb icon to access options to hide objects, to isolate objects, and to end object isolation.
