You can display pull-down menus from the menu bar as an alternative to or simultaneously with the ribbon.
Some users prefer using the menus when they are unfamiliar with the ribbon and would prefer
- Accessing a more complete list of commands and options
- Having available more drawing space at the top of the application window
- Selecting descriptive words from a menu instead of icons from he ribbon or a toolbar
However, most users find that specifying actions from a menu is slower than using the ribbon, a toolbar, or the Command Line window.
The menu bar highlighted below can be displayed either by specifying the Classic workspace in the Quick Access toolbar at the top of the application window, clicking the drop-down at the right end of the Quick Access toolbar, or by using the CUI command to customize the user interface.
