Refine a Mesh Face

Set the subobject selection filter to select only faces: right-click anywhere in the drawing area. Click Subobject Selection Filter Face.
Click Mesh tabMesh panelRefine Mesh.At the Command prompt, enter MESHREFINE.
Click one or more mesh faces that you want to refine. Press Enter. (The object must have a smoothness level of 1 or higher.)
Each face is subdivided into four new faces.

Refine a Mesh Object

Click Mesh tabMesh panelRefine Mesh.At the Command prompt, enter MESHREFINE.
Select the mesh object that you want to refine. (The object must have a smoothness level of 1 or higher.)
The underlying mesh facets are converted to faces, and the level of smoothness for the object is set to 0. Higher levels of smoothness result in a higher number of faces.
