The Tool Sets provide efficient access to AutoCAD commands.
Tool Sets are made up of tool panels that contain tools. A tool can be either a command or a drop-down. Tool sets can be displayed as mini or full. When displayed as the mini tool set, the panel uses only small icons and there are three icons in each row. The full size tool set can include larger size icons and more tools across.
Position the cursor over a tool on the Tool Set and click to use it. If the tool is a drop-down, click and hold the button on the pointer device, and release over the tool you want to use.
Tool Set
AutoCAD comes with different two tool sets, Drafting and Modeling. Select the tab for the tool set you want to make active. AutoCAD LT only has one tool set, similar to the tools on the Drafting tab, so there are no tabs.
Tool Panels
A tool set is made up of multiple panels which are used to organize commands and drop-downs. There are some standard panels that can't be customized or removed. You can choose which tools display on a standard panel. You can create your own tool panels, adding commands and drop-downs as needed. There are different layouts available when you create a panel. Drag a panel up or down to change the order it appears on the Tool Set. You can also collapse a panel.
Drop-downs
Drop-downs are used to help reduce the amount of space that related commands take up. Commands on a drop-down are displayed by pressing and holding the button to display the commands assigned to the drop-down. Release the button over a tool from the drop-down to run the command.
