To Create a Section View Defined by Paper Space Geometry

You can use existing paper space geometry to define the cutting line.

1. In the layout containing the drawing view you intend to use as the parent, create the geometry to use as the cutting line.
2. Click Layout tabCreate View panelSection drop-downFrom Object.
3. Click the view you want to use as the parent view.
4. Select the objects to use as the cutting plane and press ENTER. The selected objects convert to a section line.
5. Move the preview to the desired location and click to place the view.
   TipThe preview is constrained to move in a direction perpendicular to a section line segment. To relax the constraint, tap SHIFT. To restore the constraint, tap SHIFT again.
6. Click Section View Creation tabCreate panelOK.
