Point Cloud Intensity Color Mapping Dialog Box

Product Documentation
Intermediate

Controls settings that help you analyze a point cloud intensity using different color settings.

Summary

Intensity maps assist in feature recognition by providing visualization capabilities for point cloud formats that provide intensity data. By using color maps, you can distinguish features that might otherwise be lost in the noise of surrounding points.

List of Options

The following options are displayed.

Color Scheme

Specifies the color mapping scheme for shading intensity values on point clouds.

Choices include Grayscale, Spectrum, Red, Green, and Blue. Use the Spectrum color scheme to distinguish intensity details in complex point clouds. Use single-color schemes to analyze simpler point clouds.
Color Ramp

Shows the colors that will be used to shade intensity values on point clouds.

Drag the sliders to adjust the range. To increase the differentiation in shades, create a narrower range.

Intensity Minimum

Specifies lowest intensity value that is displayed using the point cloud color map stylization.

The range of 0.000 to 1.000 represents a percentage. For example, if you set a minimum of 0.1, the points in the bottom 10% of the value range are displayed using the original scan colors, not the current stylization.

Intensity Maximum

Specifies highest intensity value that is displayed using the point cloud color map stylization.

The range of 0.000 to 1.000 represents a percentage. For example, if you set a maximum of 0.9, the points with an intensity value in the top 10% of the range are displayed using the original scan colors, not the current stylization.

OK

Saves the color mapping settings and closes the dialog box.

Apply

Applies the color mapping settings without closing the dialog box.
