How to specify a color stylization mode for a selected point cloud.

Set the Point Cloud Color Stylization (Ribbon)

  1. In the drawing area, select an attached point cloud.
  2. Click Point Cloud tab Visualization panel Stylization (flyout).
  3. Select one of the following options:
    • Scan Colors. Displays points with real-world colors originally captured during the scanning process.
    • Object Color. Assigns the color of the point cloud object (such as ByLayer or ByObject).
    • Normal. Assigns colors to points based on the normal direction of the points.
    • Intensity. Assigns colors to points based on a color scheme mapped to intensity values with POINTCLOUDCOLORMAP.

Set the Point Cloud Color Stylization (Properties)

  1. In the drawing area, select an attached point cloud.
  2. If the Properties window is not open, right-click the drawing area Properties.
  3. In the Properties window Point Cloud Visualization Stylization box, select a different option.

Configure Hardware Settings to Display Point Clouds in Color

If the point cloud is not displaying in color as expected, you might need to turn on hardware acceleration.

  1. At the Command prompt, enter 3DCONFIG.
  2. In the Adaptive Degradation and Performance Tuning dialog box, click Manual Tune.
  3. In the Manual Performance Tuning dialog box, select Enable Hardware Acceleration.
