Split a Mesh Face
- Click Mesh tab
Mesh Edit panel
Split Face.
At the Command prompt, enter MESHSPLIT. - Click the mesh face that you want to split.
- To snap to a vertex of the face, enter v (Vertex).
- Click the location where you want to start the split.
- Click a second location to end the split.
The mesh face is split along the boundary you specified. Surrounding faces are adjusted.
Extrude a Mesh Face
- Click Mesh tab

Extrude Face.
At the Command prompt, enter MESHEXTRUDE. - To review or change the extrusion method, press s (Setting) and set one of the following options:
- To keep adjacent faces joined as you extend them, enter y (Yes).
- To extend adjacent faces separately, enter n (No).
- Click one or more mesh faces and press Enter.
- Specify the amount of extrusion using one of the following methods:
- (Single face extrusion only) Press Enter to set the extrusion dynamically.
- Enter a value to indicate the height or depth of the extrusion and press Enter.
Collapse a Mesh Face
- Click Mesh tab

Mesh Edit drop-down
Collapse Face or Edge .
At the Command prompt, enter MESHCOLLAPSE. - Select a mesh face or edge.
Note If you cannot select a face or edge, verify whether subobject selection filtering is turned on for a different subobject type. (Right-click the drawing area and click Subobject Selection Filter.)
The vertices of the face or edge that you selected are collapsed to a single point.
