About Using Layout Curves

Use a layout curve to anchor objects along a path. You can define the following objects as layout curves:

  • Walls
  • Curtain walls
  • Window assemblies
  • Spaces
  • Mass elements
  • Roofs
  • Lines
  • Arcs
  • Circles
  • Ellipses
  • Polygons
  • Polylines
  • Splines

Layout curves are best suited for objects with linear geometry, such as polylines, walls, or splines. If you need nodes on a two-dimensional (2D) object, consider using a layout grid instead.
