Create NURBS surfaces in Create VR
You can use NURBS modeling for the precise creation of non-organic features. They are a good place to begin 3D modeling with curves and surfaces for the first time.
This video describes how to create and delete NURBS surfaces in Create VR.

Create a surface
When using the Surface tool to create a surface, note that:
- The tool uses both hands.
- The distance between both hands determines the width of the surface.
- The angle of both hands adjusts the arc of the surface.
- Select the Surface tool
with the Tool Hand trigger.
- Pull the trigger on the Tool Hand to place the first set of surface CVs.
- Move both hands together to place additional sets of surface CVs.
- Press
on the Tool Hand to complete.
To create a surface along a curve line
Press the Snap CV icon
on the Tool Hand to enable CV snapping.
As you create the surface, you can snap it to existing CVs on the curve.
Position one hand near the first CV you want the surface to snap to.
The stylus highlights the CV the surface will snap to. The Snap CV icon also highlights.
Pull the trigger on the Tool Hand to snap the surface CVs to the highlighted CVs, then use the Global Hand to guide the surface creation.
Press the green checkmark on the Tool Hand to complete.
Create a revolved surface
Select the Revolve tool
. A dashed line is attached to the Tool Hand. This is the axis on which you will create the revolved surface.
Position the axis freely or along a direction vector, tapping left or right to choose between the X, Y, and Z axis.
Pull the trigger to place the axis, then hold the trigger and drag to draw a revolved surface.
Delete a surface
- Select the Global Delete tool
.
- Place the stylus on the surface and pull the trigger.
