Alias Create VR Known Limitations
Create VR may take longer than usual to shut down after working with scenes containing a large number of objects. While Create VR shuts down, the visuals in your headset may become static. As a wWorkaround, remove your VR headset while Create VR shuts down to avoid visual discomfort. SBVR-1757
Imported reference geometry does not appear in the scene after the file is saved and reopened in Create VR. Workaround: Re-import the reference geometry after opening the file. SBVR-1415
When taking a screenshot, the camera direction and the visualization plane may not align properly. SBVR-1495
Create VR may crash when you are attempting to extrude a specific selection of faces. To avoid this, the selection of faces for sub-d extrusion must be manifold – it must not include any bow-tie vertices as seen in the image below. SBVR-1508
- When using the "Remove Symmetric Copy" mode for the "Mirror Edit" tool, the other copy you did not select may be deleted. SBVR-1612
- If you import or open an FBX file with objects that are not assigned to any layer in the source software, it will not be editable. Workaround: You can use the Assign Layer tool to assign it to a layer and enable editing. Objects not assigned to a layer are painted red in the Assign Layer tool mode. SBVR-1540, SBVR-1701
- When importing geometry into Create VR from Alias, NURBS cylinders, spheres, toruses and cones may not be editable. Workaround: While saving as an FBX file from Alias, ensure that "Divide Periodic" is checked in the Save As FBX Options. This allows the geometry to be editable in Create VR. SBVR-1564
- You cannot add a CV or CV row to a self-symmetrical periodic ellipse on a symmetry plane or to a revolved ellipse/geometry. SBVR-1580
- When opening a sub-d from Create VR with material assignment in Alias, the sub-d will not appear to have any material assigned. Workaround: The material data is in fact imported, but the material is associated with the cage and not the surfaces that were subsequently generated due to hybrid modeling. You can manually assign the imported material to surfaces. SBVR-1616
- For Oculus headsets, when the dominant Tool Hand is set to the left controller and the left analog stick is used, the animation in the scene is shown on the right (non-dominant) controller. This is only an animation inconsistency, the appropriate actions are still executed in Create VR. SBVR-1657
- After removing a self-symmetrical object from the symmetry plane, the object's unique symmetry plane no longer displays. Snapping the object back onto the symmetry plane works as usual. SBVR-1704
- While using the Transform Manipulator, Object Grip Move is incorrectly allowed. Transforming the object with the tool causes the moved object to behave unexpectedly. Workaround: Avoid using Object Grip to move objects while using the Transform Manipulator. SBVR-1735
- The snapshot tool is disabled when the current layer is marked hidden, so you are unable to take a snapshot in this case. Workaround: Go to the Layers palette and select a visible layer as the current active layer. You can then successfully take a snapshot. SBVR-1389
- A revolved surface created along the Z-axis on the symmetry plane is not self-symmetric and does not behave as expected when modified. SBVR-1740
- When importing an FBX file into Create VR, resources that fail to load may leave the application in an invalid state and get stuck on the loading percentage. SBVR-1575
