- In Alias 2024, controls are now more consistently organized across editors, making frequent actions easier to find.
- For example, editors now include a common icon bar.
- Also, when editors don't contain objects or data prompts tell you how to get started on your workflow.
- At the top left of the editors, the icon bar displays options for creating, adding, modifying and deleting.
- Click the plus icon to create a new layer or a new variant and so on.
- In some cases, there may be additional options.
- Along the top right include tools for filtering views and searching as well as editor settings and menus.
- Click the gear icon to access editor-specific settings.
- For example, in the Object Lister, it displays the Show By options and lets you set which buttons and indicators display in the lister.
- In the Variant Lister, you've got the playback and preview settings.
- And in the Construction Plane Editor, you can access the draw and show options.
- Not all editors include the settings menu.
- The menu located here includes options available in the editor.
- Note that you could access many of the same options from the editor context menus.
- Like in previous versions of Alias, you'll find the options for minimizing, auto hiding the window, as well as the button for accessing the editor's help topics.

- The Control Panel is now easier to use and focuses on the key features and settings that apply across the NURBS and Subdivision modeling workflows.
- These key settings include Parameterization, Controls Display, and Curvature Display.
- This means there are no longer multiple organizations of the Control Panel.
- To recreate the organization of the different control types that are available in previous versions of Alias, you can use multiple customized shelves and workspaces.
- When using the Default Workspace, you'll see the Control Panel docked to the right side of the viewport.
- A shelf containing the Transform CV tool and Cross Section Editor are docked under the control panel along with the Diagnostic Shading window.
- The Shader Library section of the visual Control Panel is now available in the Shader Library window.
- Here you can access features such as the shader ball display, the Automotive Assets library and shader assignment options.
- The structure of the Control Panel has been flattened to allow one click access to all sections.
- Right-mouse-button click a section to access its options in fly outs.
- This allows you to quickly access Control Panel options without expanding each section.
- This keeps the Control Panel compact saving screen space.
- There are also new ways to set values in the Control Panel.
- For options that input whole numbers, you can either scroll to a value or select a value from the drop down list.
- Quickly set integers by middle-mouse-button dragging in the field to the desired value.
- Note that we've added a Clear All Objects button, which lets you turn off these selections on all objects at the same time.
- For example, quickly turn off the CV display on all your models.
- We've removed the Curvature tool icon from the bottom of the panel and instead provided permanent access to comb creation in the Curvature section.
- The settings for surface isopro curvature are now contained in the sub menu below
- Like other alias windows, the Control Panel can be resized and docked to other editors and windows.
