Alias has been visually updated with a new look and feel. We made user experience improvements for more efficient workflows and flexible customization. For technical details including What's Fixed, see the Alias Release Notes.

2024.1 More Features

2024.1 Additional Enhancements

New Sphere primitive type - We've added a new non-pole, degenerate surface NURBS sphere primitive. The new primitive is made up of six quartic single span NURBS surfaces. You can unstitch the shell (Shell Unstitch tool) to modify it.

Color Editor - Selecting a color mode now isolates the color sliders making mode-specific adjustments easier. Resizing the editor now switches it to a horizontal layout.

CATIA V5 Import Options - When using Fill Colors to HW Shaders, you can now choose to name the imported shaders by their RGBA color values. See CATIA V5 Options.

Shells - Snapping on Shells now supports Projected Intersections or True Intersections as snapping types.

Alias API updates - The Alias API Guide now includes up-to-date documentation on the significant updates made to the AlEditor class in Alias 2024. See AlEditor. A new autoClose parameter has been added to the AlEditor::addButton() function, which lets you determine if an editor should automatically close. This resolves the issue of not being able to automatically close a model AlEditor after a button has been pressed.

Highlight Color updates: Highlighting colors for selected list items in editors, including the Object Lister, Construction Plane Editor, Cross-Section Editor have changed.

Alias View in VR: We've added support for the following VR devices: HTC VIVE Pro 2, HTC VIVE Focus 3, Samsung Odyssey, and HP Reverb G2.
