Installation

Instructions on how to access, update and uninstall the NavPack Design for Alias plug-in.

Step 1: Download and Install NavPack Design for Alias

Download and run the plug-in installer

Go to manage.autodesk.com and look for "NavPack Design". If the plug-in does not show up, you may not have access yet. In that case you can reach out to your Autodesk account representative to inquire about access to NavPack Design for Alias. If it does show up, proceed.

  1. Download the plug-in installer.
  2. Quit Alias if it is running.
  3. Once the download finished, locate and run the installer on your computer. The file to run is called Autodesk_NavPack_Design_1.11.0_for_Alias_2026.1.0_Enu_Win.exe.

Step 2: Activate the plug-in in Alias

Activate the plug-in in the Plug-in Manager

  1. Launch Autodesk Alias.

  2. In Alias, navigate to Utilities > Plug-in Manager.

  3. The plug-in will show up in the navDesign for Alias section as NavPack Design.plugin.

  4. Check the box next to NavPack Design.plugin to activate the plug-in. If you have previous versions of NavPack Design installed, deactivate them to make sure Alias will run the new version.

Note: When updating the plug-in to a newer version, unload the previously installed version first by de-selecting it in the Plug-in Manager. If you intend to completely remove the previous version, quit Alias before running the uninstaller.

Step 3: Access and Use NavPack Design

Locate the NavPack Design Tool

  1. In Alias, open the Tool palette.

  2. Navigate to the Evaluate palette.

  3. Find the NavPack Design tool.

Open the NavPack Design options window

  1. Select Option, double-click the tool itself, or Shift + click the tool.

    The NavPack Design window should appear.

Use NavPack Design

  1. Select the .container AI model by clicking the folder icon.

  2. Beside AI Model click the browse icon: , then select the .container file to load the model.

  3. Select the AI Model Units to use from the list.

    Note: Input is suppose to be a single mesh object. For detailed instruction, see Getting Started with NavPack Design.
  4. Select Predict to run the inference.
