About Custom Multi-Language Dictionary Files (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Custom multi-language dictionary files (.mld) contain translations of user-defined texts that are not contained in the default multi-language dictionary files supplied with AutoCAD Mechanical toolset.

You can use any of the following options to create custom multi-language dictionary files:

  • Automatic: You can create a custom multi-language dictionary file while working in the drawing window. Click the New Rule button in the Online Translation dialog box. Then in the subsequent dialog box specify the source text string and the destination text string.

The custom multi-language dictionary file uses the file name of the current drawing, and is saved to the directory you specified in the project path of the Online Translation Options dialog box (accessible through the Defaults button in the Online Translation dialog box). This file saves all text strings (new rules) specified during the current working session.

  • Text Editor: In general, you can create custom multi-language dictionary files with any text editor, saving the file with the .mld file extension. Follow the structure of a default multi-language dictionary file supplied with AutoCAD Mechanical toolset.
