Beam Calculation Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use the Beam Calculation dialog box to select a type of material for the object you want to analyze, the type of supports, and the type of load forces you want to apply to this object. You can also calculate the deflection line or both the deflection line and moment line for the selected object.

Select Support

Contains four icons representing types of supports; from left to right the icons are, Cantilevered Support, Fixed Support, Movable Support, and Guided Support. You can combine any of these supports to define a support for the beam calculation.

Select Load

Contains three icons representing types of load forces; from left to right the icons are, Point Force, Distributed Force, and Deflection Moment.

Material

Specifies the type of material. The type of material selected, the material E-modulus, and the material stretch limit (Re) values are displayed in this section.

Table

Displays the Select Standard of Material dialog box. The standards displayed are the standards installed on your system; for example, ANSI, DIN, and ISO.

Moments and Deflection

Displays the Select Graph dialog box.

Deflection

Displays the Select Graph dialog box.

Temporarily closes this dialog box and reverts to the drawing. Press Enter to return to the dialog box.

Erase

Deletes supports and loads from the drawing. Press Enter to return to the Beam Calculation dialog box.

Edit

Changes the size of existing loads. Select the load of the size which you want to change, and enter a new value on the command line.
