When the Structure Workspace is turned on, the Build panel on the Structure tab provides buttons that are linked to macros that partially automate some operations.
Since these tools are only partially automated and jump into the middle of a command workflow, assuming several default values, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the longer version of creating parts and assemblies before you start using these shortcuts.
This page describes some typical scenarios where these tools are used. You could use these operations in various combinations.
If the geometry for the views of a part have already been drawn you can use Quick Component to create a component. This creates an empty component with 1 view, using default naming conventions and with its base point at 0,0,0. Rename the part and view as appropriate, activate the view and add pick geometry for it. Then redefine the base point for the view. After that you use Quick View to add the remaining component views to the part and then activate them and pick geometry for them.
If the geometry for the views of a part do not exist, you can use the Quick Component to create an empty part, add views as appropriate and then activate each view and draw geometry directly into the component view.
