Calculates the moment of inertial of a closed contour.
Find
Summary
You select the cross section in the drawing and specify the direction of the load force before you start the calculation. It then computes the location of the center of gravity, the direction of the main axes moment, moments of inertial along both axes, effective moment of inertia and the angle of deflection.

List of Prompts
The following prompts are displayed.
- Interior point
- Selects a point within the cross section. The system automatically finds the external and internal contours enclosed in the area defined by the cross-section.
- Area filled correctly
- Prompts for confirmation in order to determine if the area that was filled is the intended area.
- Direction of load forces
- Specifies the direction in which forces are applied.
- Description
- Specifies a description for the moment of inertia block.
- Insertion point
- Specifies where in the drawing area to insert the moment of inertia block.
- Draw principal axes anyway
- Prompts for confirmation if the system is to draw the principal axes. This option is displayed if the object you selected is rotationally symmetrical and the system cannot determine the principal axes unambiguously.
