About Printing Parts Lists (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

You can print a parts list from the Parts List dialog box, even if it has not been placed in the drawing.

When printing a parts list, you can optionally select a mask file. A mask file is used to format the hard copy of the parts list. With the aid of a mask file, hard copies of a parts list can contain:

  • A banner page that is printed as the first page of the parts list.
  • A page header that contains both text and graphics.

You can include your company logo in the page header.

  • Special formatting options on the data rows.
  • A filler section that defines what happens if the data rows do not fill the entire page.
  • A page footer that can contain both text and graphics.
  • An end page that is printed as the last page of the parts list

A report generator that is known as the Mask Editor is used to customize mask files. See Miscellaneous Advanced Tools for documentation on the Mask Editor.
