To Add a Surface Indication Leader to a Surface Texture Symbol (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

In the drawing area, double-click a surface texture symbol that has no leader or already has a surface indication leader.
Note: Surface indication leaders cannot be added to surface texture symbols with leaders pointing to edges (regular leaders).
Select the Leader and Text tab.
Click Add.
Select an object to attach the leader to, or click an empty space in the drawing area to draw a leader without attaching it.
If the symbol does not already have a surface indication leader, at the command prompt enter F. If not, skip to the next step.
Click the start point for the new leader.
At the command prompt enter A. The program selects the most appropriate path and connects the leader to the symbol.
Click OK.
