To Create a Custom Multi Language Dictionary File (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

The following example shows how to create a custom multi language dictionary (*.mld) file that translates English text to German.

  1. Open a new drawing and save it as Language.dwg
  2. Enter an English text string into the drawing: enter Shaft.
  3. Click Annotate tabText panel drop-downLanguage Converter. Find
  4. In the Online Translation dialog box, select ENU English as the source language.
  5. Select DEU German as the destination language.
  6. To specify the folder where the custom dictionary file is created:
    1. Click Defaults, the Online Translations Options dialog box appears.
    2. In the Project Path box, specify the folder that the multi language dictionary file should be created in.
    3. Click OK.
  7. Click Translate.
  8. If no destination text string can be found, the Online Translation Warning dialog box appears.
  9. Click New Rule.
  10. Enter a destination string in the box provided: enter Welle, and click OK.
  11. In the subsequent dialog box, click Yes. The translation is saved to the multi language dictionary file, Language.mld. The file contains both strings, Welle᾿and ᾿Shaft᾿ This file appears at the top of the Files to Search list in the Online Translation dialog box.
