Summary
When you specify the restrictions, the system recommends what springs to use. You can insert the form at the same time you insert the compression spring. You can also draw a spring without performing any calculations.
In order to make the calculation as simple and as clear as possible, the spring types are inserted using the same methods. You use dialog boxes for the selection, calculation, and insertion process. Use the Select Extension Spring dialog box to select the standard, the view spring type and select options.
List of Prompts
The following prompts are displayed.
- Start Point
- Specifies one end of the spring.
- Direction
- Specifies a second point through which the spring extends.
- Select rod/Select object
- Specifies the rod around which the spring is drawn. You can select any closed contour as the rod. Press ENTER if no rod exists.
- Topical Length
- Defines the length of spring as you draw it on the screen. The length must be between the maximal loaded length and the unloaded length. Use the Force/Deflection option to define the length in terms of the corresponding value of force between the minimum and maximum load.
