To Use a Layer as a Selection Set (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Note: This procedure is illustrated by way of an example. In this example, we use AMLAYER to select objects on a layer for the MOVE command.

Click Home tabLayers panelMechanical Layer Manager. Find
In the Mechanical Layer Manager, right-click the layer that contains the object you want to select and click Use as Selection Set.
Click Close.
Click Home tabModify panelMove. Find
When prompted to select objects enter P.
Note: P represents the keyword Previous, which selects the objects that you previously selected with the AMLAYER command.
Press Enter to terminate object selection.
Click in the drawing area to indicate the base point for the move operation.
Click in the drawing area to specify where the base point must move to.
