To set the behavior of how the AM2DHIDE command handles blocks selected as background objects:
- At the Command prompt, enter AMOPTIONS.
- In the Options dialog box, select the AM:Preferences tab and click System. The System Editor appears.
- In the navigation area (left side of dialog box), select Acad/M > Hide from the tree.
- In the variable area (top-right side of dialog box), double-click BlockRenaming. The Value dialog box appears.
- Type the number from the following table that corresponds to the behavior you want.

Converts the block to an anonymous block.

Breaks the association with other occurrences of the block. Renames it, appending a time stamp to its name.

Displays a dialog box to enable you to choose how to handle the block.
- Click OK until all dialog boxes close.
The next time you use the AM2DHIDE command, it uses these settings to handle blocks.
