To Quickly Create a Part and Directly Add Geometry to it (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

  1. Click Structure tabBuild panelQuick Component. Find

    You now have a new component with default names and basepoint at 0,0,0.

  2. On the mechanical browser, right-click the newly created component, select Rename and provide a name as appropriate.
  3. On the mechanical browser, right-click the view, select Rename, and provide a name as appropriate.
  4. On the mechanical browser, right-click the view and select Activate.
  5. Create the geometry for the component view. The geometry is directly added to the component view.
  6. Click Structure tabEdit Structure panelChange Basepoint. Find
  7. Click the point to use as the basepoint.
  8. Click Structure tabBuild panelQuick View. Find
  9. Repeat steps 3 through 9 until all component views have been created.
  10. Double-click the root node (drawing name) in the mechanical browser.
