Use this procedure to remove lines from a grid with evenly spaced lines. The lines will always be distributed evenly along the grid axis. To remove a particular line and have all the other lines stay in their original places, open the grid’s Properties palette, and change the Layout type to Manual.
- Double-click the ceiling grid from which you want to remove lines.
- Expand Dimensions.
- Remove grid lines:
If you want to… Then… remove grid lines from the X axis of the grid click 
. Then, click anywhere on the X axis. The number of grid lines is decreased by one. remove grid lines from the Y axis of the grid click . 
Then, click anywhere on the Y axis. The number of grid lines is decreased by one.
Your grid has been updated accordingly, with the new number of grid lines distributed evenly along the grid axis.
