Enhancements
Cinema 4D 2025: Builds for Cinema 4D 2025.0.0 are now available. (C4DTOA-3259)
Shader presets in the Node Editor: You can now load, save, and delete shader presets from the new Presets tab in the Cinema 4D Node Editor. (C4DTOA-2690)
Shader presets converted to Node Material assets: Built-in shader presets and newly-saved user presets are now stored as Arnold Node Material assets instead of legacy Arnold material assets. (C4DTOA-3241)
Preset popup button: You can now select presets from a popup button displayed next to the parameter input where available. (C4DTOA-3098)
Improved preset dialog: Shader presets are now listed under specific tabs and the preset-saving workflow is simplified. (C4DTOA-3262)
Custom shader categories in the Node Editor: You can now define custom shader categories in the Cinema 4D Node Editor for third-party shaders via the c4d_menu metadata. (C4DTOA-3243)
Incompatible Changes
- User metal presets in standard_surface shader: User metal presets can no longer be loaded and saved from the standard_surface shader UI. Only built-in presets are available. If you want to save your settings, save a material asset in the Asset Browser. (C4DTOA-3252)
Bug Fixes
- C4DTOA-3266 - Image shader created from a texture asset does not show the proper name
- C4DTOA-3272 - Windows installer sometimes does not detect the Cinema 4D install path
- C4DTOA-3275 - Cinema 4D hangs when loading a scene that has texture assets in Node Materials
System Requirements
- Windows 10 or later, with the Visual Studio 2019 redistributable.
- Linux with at least glibc 2.17 and libstdc++ 4.8.5 (gcc 4.8.5). This is equivalent to RHEL/CentOS 7.
- macOS 10.13 or later.
- x86-64 CPUs need to support the SSE4.1 instruction set. Apple Mac models with M series chips are natively supported.
- GPU rendering and OptiX denoising work on Windows and Linux only, and require an NVIDIA GPU with the Maxwell architecture or later.
- On Linux, we recommend 535.104 or higher drivers.
- On Windows, we recommend 537.13 or higher drivers.
- Intel OIDN GPU support is limited to:
- MacOS
- Apple native CPUs (M1 and newer)
- Windows
- Intel Xe dedicated and integrated GPUs
- NVIDIA GPUs using Turing or newer architectures
- AMD GPUs with RDNA2 (Navi 21 only) and RDNA3 (Navi 3x) architectures
- MacOS
