Subdivision Surface - Arnold for Cinema4d

The native Cinema 4D Subdivision Surface object is translated to Arnold subdivision by default instead of exporting the subdivided geometry. Executing subdivision in render-time makes it more efficient, allowing the renderer to do extra optimizations.
However, in some cases, Arnold's subdivision does not match the result in Cinema 4D. For example, if deformers are used under the Subdivision Surface object. In these situations you can export the final subdivided geometry from Cinema 4D instead, by adding an Arnold tag to the Subdivision Surface object (C4DtoA Tags > Arnold Parameters) and enable Export subdivided geometry.
Subdivision Weights (creases)
Subdivision weights are translated to subdivision crease sharpness in Arnold. Soft and hard creases are supported.
Cinema 4D and Arnold use different subdivision algorithms which can result in slight mismatches in the following cases:
- Soft creases
- Hard edge creases
Vertex and face hard creases produce an exact match between Cinema 4D and Arnold.
