Shader Presets - Arnold for Cinema4d
C4DtoA allows you to save shader settings as user presets and easily reuse them in a new scene or a new shader graph from the Presets tab.
- Load...: Loads a previously saved user preset or built-in preset that is shipped with C4DtoA. Overrides the shader parameters with the stored preset values.
- Save...: Saves the current shader settings (parameters) to a new user preset or overrides an existing one.
- Delete...: Deletes a previously saved user preset.
Info: Presets are available only for specific shaders, such as standard_surface, openpbr_surface, standard_hair, standard_volume, toon, car_pain and color_correct. The Presets tab can be added to third-party shaders via the
c4d_enable_presets
meta data.
Info: Presets are stored as Cinema 4D material assets, you can view and edit them manually in the Asset Browser, like any other assets.
Presets are stored in ACEScg color space. To avoid any color space mismatch, you have to switch to the OCIO color manager in Scene Settings, when you load them directly from the Asset Browser. If you load presets via the shader Presets tab, then the plugin automatically converts them to the right color space based on the current Scene Settings.
Since presets are stored in the native Cinema 4D format, they can not be loaded in other DCCs directly.
