Material X - Arnold for Houdini

You can render Arnold MaterialX nodes in Solaris. A USD MaterialX Builder (Arnold) LOP has a Tab menu of Arnold MaterialX nodes and vanilla MaterialX nodes (/mat context).
MaterialX Compatibility
The following materialX nodes are supported
- Standard Library nodes
- Houdini MaterialX nodes
- Arnold MaterialX nodes
- Solaris Quick Surface Materials nodes
Note:
Note that the vanilla USD MaterialX Builder no longer shows Arnold MaterialX nodes by default, which is a workflow change compared to previous versions.
How to use Arnold-specific MaterialX nodes
- Create a USD MaterialX Builder (Arnold) node.
- This creates a MaterialX Builder with a tab menu listing the ArnoldMaterialX and MaterialX nodes.
- The Arnold-specific MaterialX nodes are under the MaterialX/Arnold tab menu.


Arnold MaterialX
Arnold MaterialX nodes are renderable in Solaris. They can be found in MaterialX/Arnold.
Houdini MaterialX
The Houdini MaterialX nodes (such as hmtlxfacingratio.mtlx, hmtlxgain.mtlx, huniformcubic.mtlx, and huniformramp.mtlx) are supported in Arnold.
