Anti-aliasing Settings - Arnold for Katana
See the Arnold User Guider for details on the sampling parameters:
Progressive Sampling
enable_progressive_render
Enables/disables Progressive Rendering.
enableBlockyProgressive
All but the final pass sample settings will be automatically adjusted up or down to achieve a target frames-per-second display rate.
AA_progressive_samples_min
Preview and live rendering can be customized so that rendering isn't more blocky than desired when modifying the scene.
bucketCorners
Bucket corners can be turned disabled or enabled (default). They will not be displayed until a bucket's computation time has passed to avoid visual clutter.
- Further information about sampling can be found here.
- More information about working with sampling and removing noise can be found here.
- Note that to have SSS values spread across multiple objects, for example from a face to an eyeball, you will need to use 'SSS Set Name'.
- 'Volume Indirect' samples and per-light 'Volume Samples' do not apply to 'Atmosphere Volume'. To improve the quality of the 'Atmosphere Volume' you must increase the 'Atmosphere Volume' samples.
- The filter type is used for averaging individual subpixel samples into a final pixel color. Most of these filters are available for legacy purposes only. More details can be found on Wikipedia.
Tip:
We recommend using the Gaussian (width 2.0) or Blackman-Harris filters.
