Create Submittals with Smart Build

The Smart Build functionality in the Spec View tool allows you to identify text from the specification to use in creation of a submittal. To create a submittal with the Smart Build functionality:

1. Switch to the Smart Build tab above the PDF. This opens the PDF in an interactive mode where you can highlight text to use in the creation of a submittal.

   

2. Use your cursor to highlight the text to include in the submittal.

   

   Tip: Smart Build uses the highlighted text to automatically populate the submittal fields.

3. In the window that appears, enter or modify the data in the following fields:

   • Specifications sub section
   • Sub section heading
   • Submittal type (required field)
   • Submittal group
   • Submittal description (required field)

4. Click Add.
