Smart Register
Once specifications are uploaded to AutoSpecs, the Smart Register allows you to see all of of the sections and the related submittal information in one place. From the Smart Register you can:
- Sort and filter submittals
- Add, edit, delete, or copy submittals
- Merge submittals
- Publish submittals for use in Autodesk Build
- Export and download submittals
- Generate reports
View Submittals and Configure the Smart Register
The Smart Register provides a highly customizable way to view and manage specification PDFs that have been imported into AutoSpecs.
From this view, you can configure columns, add or remove columns, and filter and sort specifications.
Use Spec View to view, edit, and create submittals from the specification PDFs.
Configure Columns
The Smart Register tool gives you full control over how you view your list of specification PDFs. To add or remove columns that you'll see in the table:
Click the gear icon.
Select columns that you want to view and deselect those you don't want to appear.
To add a custom column:
- Click + Add.
- Enter a Label for the column.
- Enter a Type (text, date, or number).
- Add a description.
- Click Add.
You can change the order in which columns appear in the table. Click and hold the column title and drag it to where you'd like it to appear.
By default, the Smart Register tool truncates lines of text so more data can be displayed. You can display all text in a column using the text wrap feature. Enable text wrap using the Wrap text toggle on the right side of your screen.
Changes to the Smart Register tool are not saved automatically. Use the Save button on the top of the Smart Register table to save all changes.
