Submittal Types
This page provides an overview of the different submittal types used to categorize and identify submittals. It covers:
- Common submittal types and their definitions
- Adding and managing custom submittal types
- Setting default types at the project level
Submittal types help classify and describe the content or purpose of submittals. Rather than relying solely on spec sections, types enable users to quickly identify key details about a submittal.
Some common submittal types include:
- Shop Drawing: Detailed drawings showing how materials or products will be fabricated and installed.
- Product Data: Catalogs, brochures, performance charts, or other information on products to be used.
- Samples: Physical examples demonstrating materials, finishes, colors, textures, or workmanship.
To add a custom submittal type:
- Click Submittals from the left navigation to open the Submittals tool.
- Click Settings menu
and choose Types.
- Click Add type.
- Enter Title.
- Click Create.
Once created, custom submittal types can be edited, deactivated, or deleted as needed. Types can also be set as default values at the project level.
