Minimum Permissions Requirements

Informed Design utilizes Autodesk Docs and folder permissions to manage access when using Informed Design for Inventor and Revit.

Autodesk Docs Folder Permissions

The folder permission levels are defined as follows:

Permission Level Description Action
View View Only View files, add private mark-ups and create issues.
View View + Download View and download files, add private mark-ups and create issues.
Create View + Download + Publish Mark-Ups View and download files, and create issues.
Create View + Download + Publish Mark-Ups + Upload View, download and upload files, and create issues.
Edit View + Download + Publish Mark-Ups + Upload + Edit Create folders, share your own files with members, view and edit any other files in that folder and publish mark-ups.
Manage Full administration controls Create folders, share files with members and view and edit any other files in that folder. With Manage permission, you can carry out the same folder tasks as a project administrator.

Note: To create a subfolder for use as a publish location, you must have Edit permissions or higher in its containing folder.

Informed Design for Revit Permissions

Autodesk Docs: Your permission level in the product’s containing folder must be View – ‘View Only’ or higher.

To assign instances from a Revit model in the Informed Design Web Portal:

Autodesk Docs: Your permission level in the Revit model’s containing folder must be Create – ‘View + Download + Publish Mark-ups’ or higher.
