Transmittals

A transmittal is a formal means of sending project drawings, models, and other documents to another project member or team. Within Document Management, this formal sharing of information comes with a few key aspects:

  • Notifications for sending and receiving.
  • Instructions or a description of the transmittal and any required actions.
  • A list of the content included in the transmittal and access to that content.
  • An audit trail tracking the nature of the transmittal including specific document versions included, the members involved in the transmittal, and when any actions around the transmittal took place.
  • A shareable record of the transmittal itself.

Transmittals are created from the Folders view within Document Management. After a transmittal is created and sent, it appears on the Transmittals tab.
