To Add the Transition - Offset Fitting Between Two Ducts

You can use the Duct Transition Utility to connect two parallel ducts, duct fittings, or MvParts of different shapes, sizes or elevations. The DTU builds a duct transition - offset fitting to connect the two parts.

Based on the DIN standards, the following are the parts and shape combinations between which you can create a duct transition - offset fitting:
  • Round to Round
  • Round to Rectangular
  • Round to Oval
  • Rectangular to Rectangular
  • Rectangular to Oval
  • Rectangular to Round
  • Oval to Oval
  • Oval to Rectangular
  • Oval to Round
    Note:

    If the specified height of the oval and rectangular end is more than the specified width, the duct transition - offset fitting is not created.

  1. In the Style Manager, choose a Transition - Offset part for the Routing Preference you are using.
  2. Click Home tabBuild panelDuct drop-downDuct Transition Utility. Find
  3. Select first duct, duct fitting, or MvPart.
  4. Select second duct, duct fitting, or MvPart.
    Note:

    The connectors on ducts, duct fittings, or MvParts must be parallel to one another.

  5. A duct transition - offset fitting is automatically added connecting these two ducts, duct fittings, or MvParts. You cannot add the parts created using this utlility to the catalog.
