To Use Markup Tools

Add markups to documents in the project library, or to image or PDF files attached to issues, checklists, tasks, or equipment. You can also create or search for document links.

  1. Open the file for markup.
    • To open a PDF or image in the library, click Library . Then double-click a document to open it in the Markup viewer.
    • To open a file attachment, in the toolbar click Issues, Tasks, Checklists, or Equipment. Then in the Attachments column, double-click an item with an attached file, as indicated by the Attachments icon. Click the Attachments tab, and then click the attachment or the Markup button to open the file in the Markup viewer.
  2. Use the markup tools.
    • To change the markup color, click Color and select from the menu.
    • To change line width, click Line Width and select a width.
    • To add text, click Text and choose a text size. Type and press Enter.
    • To draw freehand, click Draw > . Then click again to place the first point, and drag to draw freehand lines or curves.
    • To draw a line or arrow, click Draw > or and click the start and endpoints.
    • Note: Also use Draw to select the markup to move or edit.
    • To draw a shaped markup, click and select the circular, cloud, polygon, or square shape and drag onto the document. Click the Fill checkbox to draw a shape with a transparent color.
    • To create or search for links, click the link icon to open the Links dialog.
    • To specify scale and unit of measure, click Measure > Measure Line or Measure Area . Drag onto the document. If the scale is not already set, specify a scale.
    • To delete, select the markup and click Delete .
    • To undo or redo, click Undo or Redo .
    • To show or hide markup, click Hide/Show Markup .
    • To zoom in or out, click Zoom In or Zoom Out .
