Attributes Settings
The Attributes tab lists all the attributes in the project.
The different types of attributes listed can be categorized as:
System attributes: These are the default system attributes which are added to every project. System attributes can't be edited or deleted.
Custom attributes: These are attributes created for the project by members with Edit permission or above.
Naming standard attributes: These are attributes which are part of the naming standard. The Naming standard column shows shows which naming standards attribute is added to.
See Edit Naming Standards for more information on naming standard attributes.
System Attributes
Every new project will include system attributes. Project administrators can reorder system attributes (apart from the Name system attribute) and the changes will apply to folders for all project members.
Project members with edit or manage folder permissions or above can reorder or change the visibility of those system attributes at a folder level.

Create, Delete, and Edit Custom Attributes
Project administrators can create, delete, and edit custom attributes at a project-level using similar workflows as the folder-level steps. Project administrators can also add or remove custom attributes from the Project Files or For the Field folders, and set the default attribute order for all project members.
- Click
and follow the steps in the create attributes section in the Folder Level Attributes help topic.
- To delete or edit a custom attribute, click the More menu
next to a specific attribute and select Edit or Delete. Follow the previous steps.
When you edit or delete a custom attribute, a warning message displays if the attribute has been added to other folders. As a project administrator you can make these changes which will affect the other folders and associated subfolders that the attribute has been added to.
