Labels disappear in data referenced drawing in Civil 3D

Issue:

Labels of data referenced Civil 3D objects disappear from the drawing. The labels may disappear when the drawing is opened, after synchronizing references, after plotting, or after running an Audit or Recover.

Note: The labels may be selectable using Select Similar or Quick Select.

Causes:

Corrupt Data Shortcut

Solution:

Promote Data References

Promote the data referenced objects that have disappearing labels. See To promote a reference.

Reassociate the Data Shortcut project

Reassociate the correct Data Shortcut project to the drawing with the missing labels. See To associate a data shortcut project with the current drawing.

Recreate Data References

Recreate the data shortcuts. See To create data shortcuts.
