Applying a Stratum Surface Boundary Using the Geotechnical Modeler
The Geotechnical Modeler allows you to define an outer boundary for the strata surfaces created.
To apply the surface boundary to the strata TINs:
- Define the extent of the strata surface boundary by drawing a closedpolyline in the viewport. Ensure that the polyline created encompasses enough boreholes (triangulation points) to create a reasonable TIN surface.
- Open the Stratum Surface Display dialog box by selecting Stratum Surface Display from the ribbon. It is recommended that you select a visibility state for the TINs that will show any boundary updates (that is, border, triangles, or points).
- Select the Add Surface Boundary button from the top of the dialog box.
- The tool will prompt you to select a polyline; select the desired boundary geometry created in the earlier step. The strata TINs should reflect the new boundary selected. The boundary should be a non-destructive boundary.
- To remove the boundary, select the Remove Surface Boundary button from the top of the dialog box.
