Note: You can use the Properties palette to change the surface that slope labels reference. You can select multiple labels and change the surface they refer to all at once.

tab - At the command line, enter either One-point or Two-point depending on the type of the slope label that you want to add and then press Enter.
One-Point Slope Labels: Create a slope label by selecting a single point. The normal of the surface triangle is determined and the selected point (XYZ) and the direction of the triangle normal are passed to the slope label style.
Two-Point Slope Labels: You can create a slope label by selecting two points. The first point (XYZ) is the origin of the vector and the second point (XYZ) determines direction and slope.
- Digitize the location of the first point and the second point (if applicable).
- Optionally, repeat Step 3 to add more slope labels.
