The following Inventor file types can be imported into model space as solid bodies, using the IMPORT command:
- *.ipt (part) - all versions
- *.iam (assembly) - all versions
The following data types are translated:
- Assemblies
- Parts
- Surfaces
- Solids
- Multi-solids
Note: Some formats in this topic may not be available in individual AutoCAD-based products.
Limitations
If an *.iam file contains assembly features, it is not imported. You can work around this limitation by exporting the *.iam file to a STEP or SAT file and then importing the STEP or SAT file from AutoCAD.
