To Use the QuickCalc Calculator With the Properties Palette

Select one or more objects.
In the Properties palette, click a box with a numeric property.
Click the QuickCalc button in the box, and enter an expression.
Click the Apply button.

Note: If the Apply button is grayed out, it means that the value cannot be changed directly.
